The Westcoast Small Home Expo Awards, 2022

These awards are nominated and voted on by the public. Votes are public and visible on the associated pages, linked here and from the front page of our website. If you are nominated, you will receive an email notification. Your voting page can be easily linked, and yes, you can solicit votes for your entry! Winners will be declared on October 24, 2021, at 12 noon, in the Vancouver, Canada Time Zone. All voting will automatically be cut off 72 hours before that time.

Winners will be officially announced and recognized at the Westcoast Small Home Expo, on June 5th, 2022. On the first day of the Expo, in the afternoon, all winners will be recognized from our main stage. Winners will contacted in advance, and will be gifted a complimentary 2-day family pack of 4 passes to the Expo. All Nominees able to be present will also be featured on our social channels, in photos and video, in our press releases, in our paid advertising in print and on social media, and on our website for the remainder of the year, until nominations for the 2022 Expo are launched.

Nominees must be Canadian in origin, or connected to a Canadian entity. This contest is meant to focus attention on Canadian achievement, whether that be by a Canadian person or company using foreign components in a Canadian site, or by nature of a Canadian organization or individual exporting their knowledge or design or products to other countries. All Nominees must have some sort of Canadian focus to be eligible.

Voting is limited to once per day. You can vote for more than one Nominee in each category, and in all categories once per day. Nominations can come from anyone, and yes, you can nominate yourself! Nominees may be individuals, or companies, or nonprofit organizations.

Nominees can be anyone or any organization with a valid entry that meets the requirements in the category. No, they do not need to be specialists. (For example, anyone who has created a small space garden in less than a 10×10 space can be nominated for the Favourite Small Space Garden Design, even if they normally create gardens of a larger size, or even if they are not a professional Gardener or Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer.) Please see the requirements for each category.

Nominee names are made public by default. If you wish to refuse your nomination for privacy reasons, please alert us by email at info@smallhomeexpo.ca, and we will remove your nomination immediately. By accepting your nomination, you consent to the use of your name, photographs, company name (if applicable) and details about your entry for publicity and marketing purposes.

Declared winners will be named based on publicly-visible vote counts. Entries are not subject to any internal jury or voting of any kind, except to determine eligibility based on the publicly-stated eligibility requirements. You may solicit votes for any Nominee you wish, and they may also solicit votes for themselves. No members of associated organizations or affiliates of the Westcoast Small Home Expo, or our parent company Events Plus Management Ltd is eligible to vote or solicit votes for any Nominee.

Any Nominee found guilty of cheating will automatically be disqualified. If cheating is suspected, all possible investigations will be completed without the suspension of voting. If proof of cheating is found, either by the Nominee themselves, or by anyone found to be artificially inflating votes by any means, whether they be associated with the Nominee or not, voting for that Nominee will be suspended immediately, they will be removed from the contest, and they will be disqualified from re-entry.

Please provide photos of your Nominee. Voting will take place based on the photos provided. The Westcoast Small Home Expo will not be responsible for acquiring or providing any additional photos of any Nominees. Please provide photos no smaller than 800px x 600px, and larger if possible, up to a quantity of 6.

We reserve the right to restrict Nominations. Nominations must be suitable for a public family audience, and must not picture or promote the use of any illegal substance or activity. We reserve the right to restrict or remove nominations without notice, and for any reason. Nominations promoting the use of drugs, weapons of any kind, alcohol, and tobacco or vaping are prohibited.

All types of spaces are eligible. Restrictions to size of the applicable space are indicated in some categories in order to focus nominations. But spaces intended for commercial, residential, or public use, and intended for use by adults, children, and those with special needs, are all eligible.
